Winter

Hi.

It isn’t as late as usual. I’m at home, cuddling the dog. He doesn’t know it, but he’s better than any antidepressant I’ve been prescribed. If you have a fur baby, I’m sure you can attest to that.

I’ve been quiet because I’ve been busy with work and after-work work. Or maybe it’s that I haven’t had much to say.

Sometimes I am simply uninspired to create. I can’t write because I can’t pull anything interesting from my mind. I can’t draw because my hand won’t press my pen to the paper under it. I can’t be brimming with enough spunk to keep an audience entertained. It just won’t happen because there are times when I find it completely exhausting.

The weather here is finally changing to something more spring-like. The once waist-deep snow (which was dumped on us in the span of a few days) is steadily melting. I won’t miss it. Winter is not a season which I enjoy. Don’t get me wrong, I like Christmas and all that… but being cold and housebound is no fun. Puppy needs his walks, I need fresh air (that doesn’t burn my face) and vitamin d.

So maybe now that it’s beginning to warm up, I will find my creative inspiration and drive. Stick with me. It means a lot.
